This past weekend was hectic, starting with my opening reception for the senior thesis exhibition, followed by the final Wind Symphony concert of my collegiate career!
The opening on Friday night went better than I could have asked for - had an amazing crowd, and 8 of my 17 pieces sold to professors, friends, and family! A great night all around. My exhibition focused primarily on oil pastel portraits of family and friends, as well as a few charcoal landscapes and photographs. Here are a few photos that I snapped as the earliest guests arrived:
On Sunday, the Waldorf Wind Symphony held the final concert of the 2011-2012 academic year. Dr. Dodson, the graduating seniors, and the whole ensemble was recognized for their dedication and hard work they put in this year. A junior flutist performed a solo piece with band accompaniment, which rounded out the whole concert quite nicely.
All in all, it was a great weekend, and I'm glad to get back to classes. I never thought I'd say I'm glad it's Monday!

Good job on your show. It looks amazing. I am so honored that I get to keep one of your pieces. You are going to be big and famous one day...I just know it. Then I will be able to say that I helped you.
ReplyDeleteI am going to miss playing with you in Wind Symphony. We will have to get together sometime and just play together on our string instruments.
